Quincy Jones & Lionel Richie: 25 ans de lutte pour le Monde

We Are The World, version 2010,pour Haïti, pour reconstruire l'Avenir et aider au Présent...Une "opération du coeur" destinée à aider Haïti. 

Souhaitons le même succès à cette version ( Voir la première version en bas de page) que ce fut pour la précédente, dédiée à la lutte contre la faim en Afrique. Celle-ci avait rapporté quelque 63 millions de dollars, soit 46,2 millions d'euros! Et, cette fois encore, les bénéfices des ventes de "disques" ou de téléchargements, seront entièrement reversés à la (re-)construction d'Haïti.

C'est dans le même studio qu'il y a 25 ans. Avec une apparition (certes, virtuelle, cette fois-ci) dans le clip de Michael Jackson, comme il y 25 ans. Et le titre est toujours We Are The World. Comme il y a 25 ans. Cette fois, c'est pour Haïti qu'un nombre incroyable de stars de la chanson s'est réuni autour de la célèbre mélodie co-écrite par Bambi.

Pas moins de 70 artistes ont entonné We Are The World dans cette nouvelle version tels que Barbra Streisand, Lionel Richie (co-réalisateur de cette nouvelle version avec Quincy Jones), Pink, Céline Dion, Wyclef Jean, Miley Cyrus, Justin Bieber, mais aussi Jennifer Hudson ou encore Akon.

We Are The World

The recording of ‘We Are The World 25 For Haiti’ embodies the same enthusiasm, sense of purpose and generosity as the original recording 25 years ago. Through the contributions of the new voices to this rendition of ‘We Are The World,’ and with the help of our partners, the We Are The World Foundation will be committed to transparency and will help further the spirit of activism that was at the heart of the original song and movement.

We are developing mechanisms to permit our donors and members of the community to monitor the funds raised, the expenses paid, and the charitable grants funded by the We Are The World Foundation, a newly created not-for-profit organization founded by Quincy Jones and Lionel Richie who have invited Wyclef Jean, Paul Haggis, Randy Phillips, Peter Tortorici and Ambassador Luis Moreno of the Inter-American Development Bank to join them on the board. The Foundation is dedicated to raising money and to making grants to charitable organizations with meaningful and efficient relief and development programs that are responding to the continuing crisis in Haiti.
